Initial Assessment
The start of your grief embodiment met with unconditional love.
Service Description
Your initial assessment is the necessary first step for us to begin this incredible journey in death and dying. If you are a first time client you must first schedule an initial assessment. You will receive an intake form via email once your appointment has been scheduled. The 90 minutes we spend together create an opportunity for me to understand what your immediate needs are as well as creating short term and long term goals in working with me. When we meet you will sign a commitment of working with me for a minimum of four months. It is very common to work with a yoga therapist for longer. Upon arrival you will complete a self-assessment. This assessment allows me to get an idea of the imbalances as well as balances in your human system. With the information from your client intake form, your self-assessment, and what we discuss, we can then begin to develop a therapeutic plan designed specifically for you. This therapeutic plan uses a multitude of tools and modalities such as movement, breath work, chanting, mudras, meditation, Ayurveda, and more to bring ease, nourishment, and regulation to your nervous system. You can not embody your grief with a dis-regulated nervous system. What we co-create is a daily therapeutic practice that is designed to fit into your lifestyle and address your needs as well as your desires. Oftentimes your individual daily therapeutic practice will consist of a combination of the different modalities previously listed. What we design is not a one sized fits all just like all of your emotions around death and dying. It is designed with you and only you in mind. That being said; you change over time. Your needs change. Your desires change. So naturally your practice will begin to change with you. You will receive a written copy as well as a personalized recording of your daily therapeutic practice 3-5 days after your initial assessment. Once you receive this practice it is up to you to start your dedication to this work. We will then continue to meet weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on how long we work together. It is mandatory that we meet minimally bi-weekly for the first three months. I like to envision your therapeutic plan like one giant puzzle. It takes trial and error, shifts in perspective, patience, and consistency. So, are you ready to change your life? Let’s get started.
