Meet Abrianna

Yoga Therapist

Welcome to Grief Embodiment!  As a death obsessed yoga therapist and United States Navy Veteran it has become my life’s mission to work with individuals who struggle in their every day lives with the weight of grief and uncertainties around death.  Grief is not a one sized fits all and I think that’s what makes it so incredibly beautiful and unique.  I am not the kind of person to look away from pain or uncertainty.  Quite the opposite actually as I prefer to face it head on and to create a warm and open space for you to develop your own relationship with your grief and your relationship with death.

Embodying grief and talking about death allows you the opportunity to unlock the door to an incredibly beautiful, meaningful, and purposeful life.  You are given the opportunity to find your unique purpose, discover meaning in your day to day, and live a life that inspires you and that you are proud of.  The relationship you build with your own self will be unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before.  If you are grieving, death curious, or have experienced a near death then this is the community for you.  Leave nothing behind; ALL of you is welcomed and loved so unconditionally.  Are you ready to be seen and heard in a way you’ve been needing?  I welcome you, and it is so wonderful to meet you.

Why Naturopathy

Why Grief Embodiment?

It can help with

Physical Health

Feeling good in your body can be daunting when processing grief.

Disembodiment, numbness, pain, fatigue, insomnia, change in appetite, and migraines are just some physical symptoms that come with grief.

Yoga Therapy offers a multitude of ways to ease symptoms and find balance in your physical health.

Breath

The breath has a powerful impact on your entire human system as a whole. Having control of your breath gives you control over your autonomic nervous system.

Grief can make it feel as though it is impossible to breathe. Grief can cause a deep aching in your chest, an inability to take a long inhale, you may find yourself holding your breath, feeling as though your chest is caving in on itself or feeling as though your chest is on fire.

Yoga therapy offers refined techniques to bring balance back into your breathing and therefore your entire nervous system.

Personality

When you lose someone you love it’s common to feel as though you’ve lost a piece of yourself.  There is truth to that.

You are a different person now. The whole world can look different. You may find yourself questioning your role in this life.  You may even have doubts about your purpose.

If you’ve ever thought to yourself “I miss the old me” you are not alone.  Perhaps you’ve even been told “you’re different now” from those who are close to you.

Yoga Therapy can act as a bridge guiding you from that previous version of you as you step into and learn to love this new version of yourself.

Mental Health

Anxiety, depression, inability to focus, lack of clarity, PTSD, OCD, and addiction are just a few imbalances that can occur in your mental health when processing death and grief.  Racing thoughts, constant fear, stress, and exhaustion can make life feel impossible to navigate.

Yoga Therapy uses tools and techniques that are designed to help you feel empowered when managing symptoms of grief such as these.  The best part is that you are not doing this alone.

You are safe to show up exactly how you are without judgement.  These symptoms do not define you and Yoga Therapy offers a unique way for you to find ease and peace within your mental state.

Spirituality

Spirituality can mean many different things to you.  Yoga Therapy holds no agenda when it comes to spirituality or how you practice your faith. This door is wide open with possibility.  If you are someone who does hold faith in something bigger than yourself, you may find yourself questioning everything you’ve once believed in.  This can feel disheartening, lonely, hopeless, and quite dark.

I’ll tell you here that I cannot give you the answers you seek.  These answers lie deep within you.

Yoga Therapy acts as a guide in this journey between you and your faith. My role in this is providing you a safe space while also giving you the tools to take this adventure with you and your God, Source, Light… all of the above, deeper.  I’m here to see you, hear you, and hold space for you; to remind you that you are not alone.

FAQ

Q: I have never done yoga; can I do yoga therapy?

A: Yes!  Yoga therapy is nothing like your average yoga class.  Yoga therapy uses yoga tools in a therapeutic setting.  You will be guided every step of the way in where you want to go while being met exactly where you are with love and care.

Q: I have not suffered a loss but I think this could benefit me.  Can I still work with you?

A: Absolutely.  Yoga therapy is an incredibly healing experience.  If you suffer from anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, or simply experience dis-ease in your every day life, this could be a huge benefit to you and I would be honored to work with you.

Testimonials

“I can say with complete confidence that my work with Abrianna has completely changed my life.  She created meaningful, adaptable practices for me that immediately helped me to access peace, power, and light.  I also love our physical sessions together.  The space she creates in the room is so special.  I feel so held by her welcoming energy and am so grateful for the time we share talking about grief, breath, spirit, and life.  I would highly recommend this service to anyone.  If you are on the fence about reaching out, do it!  I am so happy that I did.”
